Monthly VAW Report Chaitra 2069
The year 2069 B.S witnessed brutal cases of violence against women (VAW). With relentless struggle of women organizations,the situation of VAW is increasingly surfacing out in the public. However, it is still difficult for survivors to get support, justice and a conducive environment to raise their issues. Recent publicized cases of Rajkumari Rana ,Sanu Kanchi who were charged with witchcraft, and the gang rape of 21-year- old woman can be taken as examples among others. These issues have to be immediately addressed.

Inspite of Nationwide protest against VAW, it escalates! The difficulty to register FIR against vaw continues. For those who dare to bring the cases of VAW against them and luckily gets heard by police by registering the case, getting justice is still a rare dream. As the focus of existing criminal justice system is on perpetrators humiliation of survivors continues at every step. Long justice system forces women to live with stigmatization till the case comes to end.

महिला हिंसा तथा जघन्य अपराध विरुद्ध सरकारको “शून्य सहनशीलताको” नीति र जवाफदेहिताको माग देशभरि भइ रहेको छ । तर सरकारदेखि सहयोगी निकायसम्म आवश्यक संवेदनशीलता अझै पाउन सकिएको छैन । अहिले पनि महिला हिंसामा मिलापत्र गराइन्छ । यस अवधीमा बलात्कारका मुद्दा मिलाउन खोज्ने एक प्रहरीलाई कार्वाही गरिएको सूचना बाहिर आएको छ । यसलाई अवश्य पनि सकारात्मक कदमका रुपमा लिन सकिन्छ, तर अझै पनि यस्ता धेरै मुद्दाहरु मिलापत्र गरिन्छन्, अझै प्रहरीद्वारा जाहेरी दरखास्त दर्ता सहजै गरिदैन ।
