Provincial-Level Panel Discussion On "Where Is My Self-Esteem?"

September 21 has been celebrated as an international day of peace worldwide. The UN General Assembly has declared this day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire. On the occasion of "World Peace Day," WOREC conducted a provincial-level panel discussion in collaboration with the national network of conflict-affected Sahaj Network. The panel discussion was on the topic "Where is my self-esteem?" The program aimed to create an intuitive environment for those affected by conflict to raise voices for justice and define justice from a women's perspective.
A total of 65 participants marked their presence in the program. The three main objectives of the program were:
- Creating an intuitive environment for those affected by conflict to raise their voices for justice while defining justice from a woman's perspective
- To prepare a letter of demand for those affected by the conflict and submit an attention letter to the concerned authority
- Create an environment for concerned agencies to understand and address current questions from conflict-affected groups
The outcomes from the programs were:
- The conflict-affected succeeded in preparing a demand letter and explaining it to the Chief Minister and the Minister of Economic Affairs and Law
- The Chief Minister has pledged to make a statement on the points mentioned in the demand letter
- Vishnu Pokhrel, a member of the Truth Reconciliation Commission, has completed the classification of the request forms received by the commission and has committed to including the missing incidents of sexual violence and other cases during the conflict
