Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) is a national level NGO working for women's human rights and to ensure women empowerment through protection and promotion of human rights and social justice focusing on campaigns against violence against women, and women's economic, social and cultural rights and human rights and social justice nation-wide. Our working districts with offices are spread over Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Siraha, Dhanusha, Dang, Kailali, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rukum, Rupandehi, Surkhet and the Central Office is located in Lalitpur. WOREC is currently looking for candidates to fulfill the following position:

Position: Database Officer   (Position -1) Kathmandu Based

Position Description

The Database Officer (DO) reports directly to Program supervisor and works in close coordination with Knowledge Management unit. The Database officer takes lead role and works in close coordination with the District Coordinators, Field program officers and other staffs in achieving the goal and objectives of program as well as WOREC. She/he/they is mainly responsible for program planning, implementing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, stakeholder communications and coordination with central office and communities.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain up-to-date databases as required, including across relevant programs and supporting all relevant departments/units and also maintain its standard
  • Enter, compile and analyze the collected data through GBVIMS and SPSS.
  • Prepare monthly Violence Against Women (VAW), Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ESCR), and Human Rights violation statistics and press statements for each month.
  • Collect the data methodologically and analyze it regularly for ANBESI and other publications of WOREC.
  • Collect all documents needed for the database and enter each right holders/service receiver's information and produce the campaign based advocacy paper.
  • Gather and compile all the information/ data from the district about the meeting, campaigns and trainings on monthly basis from districts and record on SPSS / GBVIMS.
  • Regular communication and coordination with the district team.
  • Maintain the data bank for research studies, and publications.
  • Preparation of case studies and translation
  • Reviews of case records produced by advocates within your team, to ensure that records are up to date, accurate and complete, and that confidentiality and data protection is being observed.
  • Plan and oversee system design of different databases and proposes technical solutions for consolidation of all data related to the program implementation and functioning.
  • Coordination with various government agencies, non- government organization and various networks that work in the field of human rights, trafficking and social justice.
  • Prepare and submit report  according to the requirement of  programs
  • Work in close coordination with program team, documentation officer, communication officer and Women Human Right Defenders (WHRDs).
  • Conduct a field visit as per the requirement.
  • Support Publication on Nepali editing.
  • Involve in research follow-up , date collection and  coding & feeding information
  • Work as organization assigned as it's required and Perform the task as assigned by the line manager
