Job Description

The Senior Program Manager (SPM) is mainly responsible for program planning, implementing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, stakeholder communications and coordination with field and other various stakeholders and oversee the program development, proposal writing, tracking all specific and short-term projects that have specified deliverables. SPM works in close coordination with PCs, POM, ED and Chairperson of organization. The SPM takes lead role and works in close coordination with District Coordinators, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager/officers of the concerned programs and other field staffs in achieving the goal and objectives of WOREC. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible to oversee program against gender based violence in private and public domain, and economic, social, cultural rights of women and implement the programs.
  • Take team leadership and oversees all the programs. Take regular updates from district offices regarding all the ongoing programs and activities and guide them through in managing both the program and the operations smoothly.
  • Ensures that all campaigns and programs of the organization are well connected with the organization's vision, mission, goals and objectives and that the issues that come from the community are well linked with programs and campaigns.
  • Make annual, half yearly, quarterly and monthly plan of program, implement activities effectively in order to achieve expected outcomes, document adequately and properly and ensure timely reporting from field by district offices, field officers, counselors and supervisors and prepare report to donors.
  • Also ensure that for all activities implemented, evidences/reports are documented at central level as well as district level.
  • Take lead and provide support to develop annual and periodic plan based on past experience/learning and innovations and WOREC’s strategic plan using the standardized form that clearly define objective, activities, indicators, expected results, time frame, budget etc.
  • Monitor progress and ensure quality by tracking program implementation and reporting on timely basis and making necessary adjustments to ensure the successful completion of the respective project.
  • Develop project concept notes and project proposal under the supervision of Executive Director. Engage in preparation of analytical reports and submit it to Executive Director.
  • Organizes training, workshop conferences/seminar and interaction programs in coordination with different national and international partners.
  • Develop an annual budget and operation plan to support the program.
  • Plan, design and carry out the research and training programs.
  • Develop and implement the campaign from women's human rights perspective considering the project documents as well as WOREC's vision and mission.
  • Identify the issues to be covered by campaigns and programs and work for fund-raising accordingly.
  • Plan, design and conduct staff capacity building program and provide technical support to respective staff as per the need.
  • Make field plans and carry out supervision and monitoring visits and provide technical inputs and required support to staff for successful completion of program/projects in all districts.
  • Carry out periodic review of the program/project plan and implementation with program team, provide technical input and conceptual guidance and incorporate learning.
  • Strengthen and maintain relationship with various governments, non- government organizations and various networks that work promoting violence against women and women human right.

 

Education Qualification and Skills

  1. Master’s degree or M.Phil in social sciences, law, public health, business administration or other related field.
  2. At least five years of experience in similar position.
  3. Have methodical and strategic thinking.
  4. Good communication skills.
  5. Project management and research skills.
  6. Excellent organizational skills.
  7. Budgeting experience.
  8. Computer literacy.
  9. Knowledge of auditing policies and programs.
  10. Knowledge of working with UN Agencies and/or other donor agencies.
  11. Strong writing skills in English and Nepali languages.
