Facilitation of Five-Day Job Readiness Training at Udyapur and Biratnagar
Position Title: Consultant / Resource Person
1. Background
Women, particularly those from marginalized and economically vulnerable communities, continue to face multiple barriers in accessing decent employment, sustainable livelihoods, and economic opportunities. These barriers are further compounded by discriminatory social norms, limited access to resources and information, unequal participation in economic decision-making, and exposure to gender-based violence (GBV).
Although the participants have already acquired technical and vocational skills, field experience has shown the need for structured follow-up support to strengthen their transition into employment and income-generating opportunities. Key areas requiring further strengthening include job readiness, financial literacy, labour rights awareness, entrepreneurship development, communication and leadership skills, and access to relevant support systems.
2. Objective of the Assignment
The overall objective of this assignment is to facilitate a high-quality, participatory five-day Job Readiness Training that enhances the entrepreneurial capacity, workplace preparedness, and economic resilience of trained women, enabling them to access safe, dignified, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
3. Scope of Work
The consultant will be responsible for the following tasks:
3.1 Facilitation of Training
- Facilitating a five-day Job Readiness Training using participatory and learner-centered approaches.
- Ensuring an inclusive, respectful, and safe learning environment for all participants.
- Conducting interactive sessions, including group work, role plays, discussions, and mock interviews.
- Supporting participants in developing individual action plans for employment, self-employment, or enterprise development.
3.2 Training Content Delivery (Major Thematic Areas)
The training will focus on the following key thematic areas:
- Economic empowerment and livelihood planning, including economic independence, identification of livelihood pathways, career planning, assessment of individual strengths, interests, local opportunities, and understanding of unequal power relations that shape access to economic resources and decision-making.
- Entrepreneurship and business development, including business idea generation, market assessment, basic business planning, enterprise management, customer relations, and business sustainability.
- Financial literacy and economic management, including personal and business budgeting, savings and financial planning, record keeping, and basic digital and financial literacy.
- Job readiness and workplace skills, including job search strategies, interview skills, workplace ethics, professionalism, teamwork, and time management.
- Communication, leadership, and confidence building, including effective communication, interpersonal skills, leadership, negotiation, decision-making, and self-confidence development.
- Gender equality, GBV awareness, and safe workplace practices, including gender norms, unequal power relations, barriers to economic participation, concepts and impacts of GBV, workplace harassment, discrimination, and prevention mechanisms.
- Labour rights and workplace protection, including basic labour rights and responsibilities, workplace safety, protection mechanisms, and grievance handling, complaint, and referral systems.
- Support services and referral mechanisms, including available services for women and survivors of violence, psychosocial and legal support options, and community-based referral pathways.
- Individual action planning, including development of personal employment, entrepreneurship, or livelihood plans and goal setting for future economic engagement.
4. Deliverables
The consultant is expected to deliver the following outputs:
- Training agenda and facilitation plan
- Training presentations and facilitation materials (PPT/handouts)
- Successful completion of five-day training
- Daily session-wise documentation (summary of activities and reflections)
- Final training report, including:
- Participant list
- Key outcomes and observations
- Photographs from the training
- Challenges, lessons learned, and recommendations
5. Duration and Schedule
- Training Duration: Five Days (Residential Training) at Morang and Biratnagar
- Dates: As per agreed schedule with WOREC
- Reporting Submission: Within 3–5 days after completion of training
6. Payment Terms
- Payment will be made upon successful completion of the assignment and submission of all required deliverables, in accordance with WOREC financial policies.
- Applicable taxes (15%) will be deducted at source as per government regulations.
7. Reporting and Supervision
The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the designated WOREC focal person and coordinate closely with the project team for planning, implementation, and reporting.
8. Confidentiality
The consultant shall maintain strict confidentiality regarding all information, data, and materials accessed during the assignment and shall not share them with any third party without prior written consent from WOREC.
9. Ethical Considerations
The consultant is expected to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful training environment, particularly considering participants may include survivors of GBV. The consultant must adhere to WOREC’s safeguarding and PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) policies.
10. Ownership of Materials
All training materials, reports, and outputs developed under this assignment will remain the property of WOREC Nepal.
